Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (LDD) SEN and Inclusion – Self Evaluation Framework (SENSEF)The most effective schools are those that rigorously self evaluate. A view of our strengths and weaknesses, and how we compare nationally, is important so that we can judge the impact our work has on children's learning and identify the areas we need to improve. The attached self evaluation tool provides a means for schools to assess where they are, and to identify a basis for future development. It is designed to address the wider brief of inclusion, identifying vulnerable groups with SEN as part of this. It meets the demands of the new OFSTED framework through recognition of the Every Child Matters agenda and is intended to feed into the school SEF. This document has evolved from the self evaluation framework in Leading on Inclusion – School Self Evaluation Session/Primary Strategy DCSF 1183-2005G. It is anticipated that, if used, this document would be included in any supporting documentation forwarded to Local Authority officers as part of the process of monitoring SEN provision. The school has a responsibility to monitor the progress of all pupils and this is supported by the Local Authority. However, the Local Authority has a statutory responsibility to monitor provision of SEN within each school every two years. Click below to access various documents:
