Target Setting Guidance for Schools

There has been new DfES guidance issued to the local authority which “raises the bar” of expectation for achievement in 2008. For the first time there will be local authority targets for achievement in the Foundation Stage Profile – a system intended to become statutory.

In addition the local authority is required to signify to the DfES those schools who target set to ‘underachievement’ i.e. the targets you determine are below the minimum level of Fischer Family Trust ‘C’, and this is likely to translate by the DfES into a requirement for re-inspection.
