Isle of Wight Council Redeployment Procedure for School EmployeesEmployees within our schools are a most valuable resource. It is therefore important that staffing processes are handled fairly and sensitively. In Community and Controlled Schools, the Council is the contractual employer and, as a good employer, will continue to do all it can to safeguard the position of its employees. This includes a commitment to help and support staff affected by redundancy or relocation to find alternative posts. The extent to which it can do this is dependent on the co-operation and goodwill of individual governing bodies and the Council will seek full co-operation of all the governing bodies to adopt this procedure. For Aided and Foundation Schools the Governing Body is the employer and the School can apply to the Council to adopt this procedure but there would need to be agreement between the School and the Council on certain aspects of the procedure, especially with regard to the financial responsibilities. This procedure has been drawn up following consultations with the recognised Trade Unions and Teachers’ Professional Associations. Click below to access the Redeployment Procedure: |
