Providing full-time education from the sixth day of exclusion

From September 2007, local authorities have been required to provide suitable full-time education from the sixth day of a permanent exclusion and schools from the sixth day of any period of a fixed-period exclusion. This duty is statutory, therefore schools may face a legal challenge if they are not making provision.
