Childminding Network Information

Julia-childmindingnetwork2-INTRO00

General Information

The Network is a Children Come First (CCF) Quality Assured Network and works to the National Childminding Association (NCMA) Quality Standards. These standards are in addition to the Ofsted minimum standards that all registered childminders should work towards.

Children Come First Networks are re-approved every 3 years, to ensure that all of the Quality Standards and Criteria are being met and adhered to.

A CCF Network is a group of registered childminders who work with a Network Co-ordinator. The co-ordinator offers support to all Network members and monitors them to ensure they meet the NCMA quality standards

Requirements of Network Childminders

Childminders undertake initial assessment to ensure they meet the quality standards.

Network childminders should hold or be working towards a level 3 childcare qualification; they are also required to attend a minimum of 4 day/24 hours training each year.

Network childminders receive regular monitoring visits from the co-ordinator every 8 – 12 weeks.

Early Years Education

Accredited childminders of a Children Come First Network who deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage are able to offer free nursery education places for children aged 3 – 5 years funded by the Nursery Education Grant. This gives parents the choice of using their nursery education funded place in a home setting.
