COMMUNICATION, LANGUAGE AND LITERACY DEVELOPMENT: PRACTICAL WAYS TO IMPLEMENT LETTERS AND SOUNDS PHASE 1-3 EYS/EA/374 (A) OR EYS/EA/376
Target Group: Reception Class Teachers & Assistants
Course Aims: - To re-visit the Letters and Sounds Agenda and how it fits into the EYFS.
- To provide practitioners with practical ideas for implementing Phase 1-3 of ‘Letters and Sounds’.
- To increase practitioners’ confidence in ensuring children’s communication, language and literacy development (in line with Rose Report recommendations).
Course Objectives:
Practitioners will: - Increase their understanding of the ‘Letters and Sounds’ Agenda.
- Have a bank of ideas to use in their classrooms.
- Have greater understanding of how an enabling environment can impact positively on CLLD.
- Be confident in the delivery of Letters and Sounds activities and experiences.
Intended Impact: - All Reception Class practitioners to be confident and capable in meeting the challenge of Letters and Sounds.
- Improved outcomes in CLLD across the Island.
