Newly Qualified Teachers

Welcome to Teaching

Each Newly Qualified Teacher should follow an Induction Programme developed by their tutor and themselves. Newly Qualified Teachers should have a 10% reduction in the “normal” teaching time in their school in addition to their Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time.

Induction Programme Overview

The Isle of Wight Children’s Services Directorate works with schools to support newly qualified teachers. The following programme itemises the central provision for 2008/2009. Schools will, of course, have their own mentoring and support programme which will involve using the Career Entry and Development Profile.

Lunch will be available from 12:30pm for all courses that are 1:00pm – 4:00pm, or all day, at The Education Centre.
