EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES TO CHALLENGE AND SUPPORT GIFTED AND TALENTED LEARNERS IN THE CLASSROOM ABC/EC/03
Target Group: Gifted and Talented Leading Teachers and Co-ordinators. This training is cross phase, with the opportunity to work in primary and secondary groups.
The course aims to familiarise Gifted and talented Leading Teachers and Co-ordinators with the Classroom Quality Standards and ways of improving provision for gifted and talented learners.
Objectives / Learning Outcomes: - To develop specific skills to improve challenge in teaching and learning for Gifted and talented learners.
- To become familiar with the Classroom Quality Standards and how to use them to self-evaluate gifted and talented provision.
- To know how to use the outcomes of the CQS self-evaluation to support the development of effective practice and whole-school improvement.
Intended Impact:
Participants will: - understand the optimum conditions necessary to promote effective teaching and learning for gifted and talented learners;
- develop specific skills to improve challenge in teaching and learning for gifted and talented learners;
- be able to use the CQS to self-evaluate their classroom provision;
- understand how to use the CQS to inform the IQS whole-school gifted and talented self-evaluation.
