SCIENCE SUBJECT LEADERS – HIGH SCHOOLS
SSC/EC/04

Target Group: High School Science Co-ordinators.

These sessions serve a dual purpose:
  • To disseminate advice and guidance from secondary strategy, particularly regarding the new Secondary Framework in Science.
  • To act as a support network for KS4 Science and share good practice – please bring along any new ideas that you have been implementing.

Objectives / Learning Outcomes:
  • Review of GCSE outcomes (first cohort under new specification).
  • Developing strategies for progression to post 16 Science.
  • Developing and retaining staff.
  • Making two levels of progress; addressing underperformance.
  • Pedagogy for personalisation.

Intended Impact:

To enable science leaders to:
  • be aware of the new secondary curriculum and its potential influence on developments in GCSE Science;
  • deliver increased rates of progress within KS4;
  • develop good practice as a result of dialogue with colleagues.
