THE ROLE OF GOVERNORS IN MONITORING GIFTED AND TALENTED PROVISION. GOV/EC/07
Target Group: All governors
The aim of this course is to enable governors to extend their knowledge of gifted and talented education and provide more focused support and challenge to schools
Objectives/Learning Outcomes: - To develop a shared understanding of what “gifted and talented” means.
- To share effective practice in identifying, supporting and developing provision for gifted and talented pupils.
- To understand how the National Quality Standards can be used to guide school self-evaluation and set targets for improvement.
- To understand the role of Governors in developing lines of enquiry and monitoring gifted and talented provision.
- To understand the role of Gifted and Talented Leading Teachers.
Intended Impact: - Improved knowledge and understanding of gifted and talented issues.
- Governors have a significant and supportive role in developing provision for gifted and talented pupils and celebrating their achievements.
