THE GOVERNORS’ ROLE IN UNDERTAKING THE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT OF THE HEADTEACHER
GOV/EC/05

Target Group: Governors who will be reviewing the Headteacher’s Performance Management.

Objectives / Learning Outcomes:
  • Governors will be clear as to their responsibilities in relation to Headteacher performance review.
  • Governors will be able to confidently and effectively undertake Headteacher performance review ensuring appropriate rigour and challenge.

Intended Impact:
  • Governors will fulfil their responsibilities for Headteacher performance review as required by updated legislation.
  • Headteachers will be set appropriate and rigorous performance objectives and will be supported in achieving them.
  • Process of Headteacher performance review will contribute to school improvement.
