Target Group: Reception Class Teachers and Assistants.
Course Aims: - To support the development of children’s early reading skills, through the Stepping Stones and towards achieving the Early Learning Goals of the Foundation Stage.
- Following the success of the ‘Write Away!’ book, ‘Read Away!’ highlights practical activities that can help develop reading skills.
Course Description:
- The course will include information about how children learn to read, explore strategies to help develop reading skills together with a variety of practical activities to support children’s progress in reading.
Course Trainers: Anne Rider - Foundation Stage Inclusion Manager, Early Years and Vikki Reader - Advanced Skills Teacher and Children’s Centre Teacher.
Practitioners should also attend the appropriate follow-up session, so please put both dates and times in your diary.
