LANTERN LEADERS ASC/EC/04
Target Group: Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Parent Helpers.
The course aims to understand the technique and health and safety considerations in order to deliver a safe and effective lantern making workshop in a classroom situation.
Objectives / Learning Outcomes: - To be able to make a lantern using willow, tissue and masking tape.
- To understand the safety issues regarding lantern making and within an actual parade including risk assessing both the workshop and an event.
- To be able to run a lantern making workshop with young people over a series of weekly sessions.
- To hazard spot potential problems and address them in good time.
Intended Impact: - Greater opportunities for school groups to be able to safely participate in community lantern events in the towns and villages around the Island.
