MAKE YOUR OWN STORYROBE
ACS/EC/03

Target Group: Primary School Teachers and Teaching Assistants.

The course aims to create an exciting and decorative Storyrobe as a catalyst for literacy development work during the National Year of Reading. The Robe will need to be finished or embellished depending on the theme(s) chosen in schools.

Objectives / Learning Outcomes:
  • To become familiar with simple making techniques to create a themed costume (robe).
  • To understand the safety issues regarding specific costume making techniques.
  • To understand different ways of embellishing the costume to illustrate and develop chosen stories.

Intended Impact:
  • To make a Storyrobe for your own use in schools and settings to enhance the storytelling experience for young children.
