FURTHER COUNSELLING SKILLS

Target Group: All Children’s Services Personnel in schools and centrally based, who have attended the Dynamic Listening and Basic Counselling Skills Course.

This follow-up course will develop further counselling skills.

Participants will refresh their existing skills and develop the art of asking enabling questions, prompting, dealing with silences and encouraging the expression of feelings.

The course will increase confidence and competence when dealing with children and colleagues who want or need to talk.

This is a participative workshop and will include support materials.

Course Leader: Alison Botha, an experienced trainer and practising groupworker and counsellor. Her freelance consultancy ‘Advance Training’ was established in 1997.
