RECOGNISING AND MANAGING STRESS POSITIVELY
PPD/EC/08

Target Group: All Children’s Services Personnel in schools and centrally based.

After reading the extremely positive evaluations forms from the training that took place in January this year, two more sessions of this course have been set up. It was suggested by a couple of participants, including a headteacher, that ‘given the present climate they would strongly recommend everyone undertake this training’.

Aims:
  • To enable us to cope more effectively, positively and healthily with stressful ‘triggers’ and situations.

Objectives/Learning Outcomes:
  • Understanding what stress is – how it can be beneficial as well as damaging.
  • Exploring what causes personal stress and what its effects can be.
  • Identifying our own personal stress ‘crumple buttons’.
  • Identifying strategies which will enable us to manage our stress more effectively.

Intended Impact:
  • Increased awareness of how to recognise stress and a knowledge of a range of coping strategies lead to a healthier life style and reduced absenteeism.
