DYNAMIC LISTENING AND BASIC COUNSELLING SKILLS PPD/EC/07 Target Group: All Children’s Services Personnel in schools and centrally based. An opportunity to learn effective listening techniques, which will enhance all relationships both personal and professional. Participants will develop dynamic listening sills including attending, reflecting and paraphrasing. We will explore the importance of body language and non-verbal signals as well as the art of asking helpful, enabling questions. These skills will improve communication with pupils and colleagues. This is a participative workshop and will include support materials. NB Any participants wishing to develop their skills further should note there is a follow-on course, ‘Further Counselling Skills’, which is also advertised. Course Leader: Alison Botha, an experienced trainer and practising groupworker and counsellor. Her freelance consultancy ‘Advance Training’ was established in 1997.
