If you decide to stay on at school or go to college you may be able to get Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)EMA is a weekly payment worth up to £30 for eligible students who are in Year 12 and Year 13 at high school, special school or further education college. The weekly payments are intended to help cover day to day costs that you have to meet when you stay on at school or college, such as travel costs, books and equipment for your course. There are also bonuses of £100 if you remain on your course and make good progress with your learning. Payments will be made directly to your bank account so if you don’t have one already then you will need to open one before applying for EMA. If you need help or advice on setting up a bank account talk to your parent or carer, or visit your local bank. To find out more information please click the link below: |
