Code of Practice for use of Data Performance Profiles

The information contained on this website is intended for the purposes of school improvement only.

It should be treated by both officers and the LA as confidential.

The following code of practice outlines the limits of that confidentiality:

1. Access to the information on this website should be limited to those persons who are legitimately engaged in the process of school development. The information can therefore be shared for those purposes with School Improvement officers, governors and staff of the school and, where appropriate, with diocesan representatives.

2. The information on this website should not be used to make public comparisons of one school with any other named school without prior agreement. This includes written documents such as press releases, newsletters and school prospectuses, and statements made at events such as professional meetings, meetings of parents or prospective parents.

3. Users when making value judgements about the performance of schools need to be aware that in some releases data may still be unvalidated. Unvalidated data may give an incomplete picture and will certainly not reveal all aspects of the school.
