Schools Reorganisation | | | At Isle of Wight Council's Full Council meeting last night (17 September), it was confirmed the local authority is extending the formal consultation period for its proposed education reforms by a further two weeks.
The deadline for representations to be submitted to the local authority will now end at 5pm on Friday 10 October. It was originally due to end at 5pm on Friday 26 September. | | The extension gives further opportunities for residents, groups and organisations to send their views on the reforms to the council ahead of the meeting of the Cabinet on 3 November where the final proposals will be discussed. The extension will not delay the process following the consultation period. | | Isle of Wight Council Cabinet member for Children and Young People Alan Wells, who made the announcement to members, said “As the next Cabinet meeting is not until early November, we wanted to give people and organisations even more opportunity to send in their representations. Also, the formal consultation meetings for schools end next week and we feel by extending the deadline gives those attending more time to consider their response”
Representations can be made IN WRITING to Alex Moffat, School Reorganisation Project Manager, Isle of Wight Council, County Hall, Newport, PO30 1UD or via email to moving.forward@iow.gov.uk | | | |
