Latest News from Downside

Our newest club at Downside is the Mini Moto Club.. We have Dads, Uncles and older brothers who come along to help with this club ~ the club has grown from once a week on a Wednesday to take in a Saturday morning too. We get more than 20 children and Dads along each week, and we run Time Trials and Laps around the Playground. The school has purchased 3 new bikes to add to members bikes.

The photo shows some of Downside children who teamed up with Barton children to enjoy the wall climbing in the half term. The children also enjoyed Trampolining at Medina, and we have plans to introduce trampolining into the Sports curriculum at school.

The Warhammer Club staged a Campaign during the Easter Holidays and invited members from other schools to take part.. We had students from Ryde, Carisbrooke and Cowes High Schools, and other middle schools on the island.. The campaign lasted all day, and the club will be repeating this in the next half term break.

Our community Ranger, Ric Templar came along to help our Gardening Club to put the Bat boxes and Bird boxes around the school grounds during Easter Holidays. The gardening club will be improving the school grounds so that we can enter the Pan in Bloom competition, and work will also start on our Allotment Plot.
