The Department for Education and Skills has teamed up with supermarket chain ASDA and several family-oriented charities to create a series of 29 free pamphlets addressing a range of parenting issues.
The DfES-designed booklets form part of a £900,000 campaign designed to help parents and carers with parenting skills, provide advice about education and raise awareness about healthcare issues.
Created with input from charities Parentline Plus, Fathers Direct and the National Family and Parenting Institute, the booklets cover issues such as bullying, homework, fathers' involvement in parenting, choosing a secondary school, university, and eating well and staying healthy.
The free booklets will be available from the foyers of
40 ASDA stores - download (.doc) (
