The Isle of Wight Parent Partnership

The Isle of Wight Parent Partnership service offers an impartial information, support and advice service for parents/carers of children with special educational needs.

Many children, at some time in their school career, will have special educational needs of some kind, and parents have a very important part to play in helping their child to make the most of school.

Parent Partnerships can give you information about:

  • Assessment Procedures
  • Statements
  • School Reviews and Meetings
  • Parents’ rights and how the education system works
  • Information about particular Special Educational Needs
  • Transition Plans
  • SEN Tribunal procedures
  • School Exclusions

We can discuss your concerns and answer your queries:

  • Over the telephone
  • By letter
  • By pre-arranged appointments
  • We can also liaise with other agencies and schools on your behalf

We can link you with:

  • Parent Support Groups, Voluntary Organisations,
  • Other parents who have had similar experiences
  • Clubs and activities for children with special needs

Newsletter

Parent Partnership produces a regular Newsletter providing information on issues and events locally and nationally which is distributed to parents/carers of children with special educational needs, schools, support services, and voluntary groups.
