Sharing Practice

Sharing practice amongst experienced practitioners is an excellent way to develop our own skills and learn from others. It will increase teacher confidence and enables us to be more effective. Best practice will be dependent on contextual factors and will affect each of us differently depending on our individual perspectives.

When practice is shared, it needs to be in a format that is easily understood and therefore allows us to replicate it all or lets us choose what is relevant to us at that moment in time.

Sharing practice can make us vulnerable...what works in one setting may not work in another...who is to say exactly what good practice is? Good practice should be underpinned by educational theory and backed up by experience and evidence.

On this transition page is the section where we asked practitioners on the Island to share what has worked for them and to guide us through possible improvements that may be made in the future.

If you have some examples of transition practice you would like to share please use this proforma and email it to marianne.gentilli@mouchel.com
