History KS2 Unit 19 - What were the effects of Tudor exploration?

In this unit children learn about the reasons for, and results of, exploration of the world by people in the sixteenth century and its impact on sailors, settlers and indigenous peoples. Children investigate in depth one of the explorers and the problems associated with settlement. The framework can also be used to investigate other explorers and their attempts at settlement and trade.

SOFTWARE

  • Life in Tudor Times.Students are able to visit six areas of Tudor life, covering important aspects of the KS2 curriculum, including: The Tudor Monarchs - 1485 to 1603. Town and Country Life - 1500. The Spanish Armada - 1588. Art and Architecture - 1610. Overseas Explorers - 1585. Religion and the Reformation - 1529.
    Each area is entered via a time-travelling telephone box, down an animated time line and in each of the areas there is a choice of game/activity and an illustrated factfile which can be printed out(Win/Acorn) REM Software
